V Magazine - Naomi Campbell

If all the world is a stage, then Naomi Campbell is the actress, director and producer. Not one to shy away from limelight, this iconic supermodel has (despite some misbehaviour) proved she has stood the test of time with this inspired shoot by Mario Sorrenti for V Magazine.

There is no denying her feline features, predatory strut and larger than life attitude makes for great images. Her face just lights up and angles to the photographer like a match made in heaven. Tantrums aside, this woman knows how to work the camera to her advantage.
In this shoot, titled “The Empire Strikes Back”, Naomi takes on the voluminous bold shapes of the new fall season and “out of this world” silhouettes and makes it relevant to street fashion with a carefree nonchalance, minimal accessories and raw, tousled hair.

Stylist Jane How has mixed textural black statement pieces with over the top headwear as the key accessory. Sorrenti has shot in black and white which plays on the monochromatic black fashion palette to advantage.

This is complimented by the streetscape of a downtown New York style location perfectly to allude to the mix of Luxury Dishevelment.
